2025 - 2 Timothy 2:1-2

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

For 2025, our scripture of the year is 2 Timothy 2:1-2. During the course of the year we are going to be preaching through the pastoral epistles, including 2 Timothy, so we’ll naturally come to this passage and be able to understand it in context. 

We decided this text would be an appropriate way to build on last year’s scripture of the year. As we focused on Psalm 63 in 2024, we highlighted the importance of our own personal hunger and thirst for God. This year’s scripture of the year is the logical extension of that, taking what we individually have learned and experienced in our own walk with God, and intentionally sharing it with other people. 

The pastoral epistles show us God’s design for the church. As we give special attention to these verses in 2025, we want to highlight the way God intends to work through personal discipleship.
